Note: Before setting up your forum Make note of the 3 values listed in the " Settings" section of the settings page.

Tapatalk Setup

Before your forum can be accessed via the Tapatalk client, you need to set it up forum record on the Tapatalk website. Creating a forum is relatively easy and totally free.

  1. Register for an account on
  2. Once you've logged in with your account, click on the "Activate Tapatalk" link in the main menu.
  3. Pick one of the forum types (vBulletin, Vanilla, etc). Note that it does not matter which one you pick.
  4. You will be presented with a page that has installation instructions for the forum type you selected. Ignore all of it, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Add my forum to Tapatalk Network" button.
  5. You may be shown another page with more installation instructions. Again, scroll to the bottom and click the "Add my forum to Tapatalk Network Button"
  6. You should now be on the forum configuration tab. Fill out the settings for your forum. For the "Forum URL" field, use the value that was provided on the module settings page.
  7. After you have filled out the basic settings, click the "Advanced" link at the top of the page.
  8. In the "File Extension" field, select "ashx".
  9. In the "Forum Installation Directory Name" field, enter the value that was provided on the module settings page.
  10. Save changes.

At this point, The Tapatalk site will attemp to contact the Tapatalk API on your DNN site. If it can not verify that the API is working correctly, you will get a warning message.

Once the module is working properly, your forum should be accessible from any Tapatalk client.

Thanks for posting this - I reckon that between this module, active forums and ckeditor you're getting great, well rounded forum solution for any DotNetNuke site. It took a bit to get working because it was late and I didn't RTFM correctly.. and when I did - yippeeee, logged onto my phone and voila.. mobile forums for the Android.
